Dell Studio 1555: replace Mainboard (downgrade)
Hi.
I have a Dell Studio 1555 (ATI mobility Radeon 4570) which doesn't start beeping six times.
As far as I've read, it means that I have to replace the main board because the graphics chipset.
Is is possible to replace with the intel graphics model? Is cheaper and I don't realy need the ATI card.

Thanks for posting!
After researching this, it looks like the Intel model motherboard has the part number: D177M.
A good source for finding parts if we don't have it in stock is parts-people.com, but for this one I found it at Amazon for a cheaper price.

To make this change, you will also need a new heatsink:

The one that fits the AMD board won't fit the Intel one and vice-versa.
