Dell Vostro 5459 Display upgrade
Hello. I have a Dell Vostro 5459 (DV0N9B2) with HD display. I can upgrade this display to FHD IPS. Can I do it?

Thanks for posting.
Unfortunately not on this model. It ships and supports only the 1466*768 screen you currently have.

That will allow you to connect the screen - but since the system never shipped with any FHD screens, it won't read the EDID from the display correctly and you won't see an image as a result. Notebooks work only with those screens coded into the EDID table -- anything else won't work (or may illuminate and display only a partial image).

OK... Why? This laptop has 30 pin (eDP) connector. Other matrixs with FHD+IPS have the same connector 30 pin (eDP) with 2 lanes
