Dell XPS 13 9350 - Battery life

Hey

I'm seriously considering buying the XPS 13 QHD, but i'm a bit interested in what kind of battery life people are getting. If the battery life is much better with the FHD I might consider sacrificing touch and QHD for better battery life. Would be nice if it could last through a 8 hour working day.

Would any of you guys mind posting the windows battery report or any thing similar?

Thanks!

Hi ,

Thank you for writing to us!

Kindly check on the Dell website as per the system specification.

Battery life would depend on system configuration ( touch / non touch ).

Thanks

Robin

I have checked the Dell website that states "Up to 18 hours of battery life standard", but I'm pretty sure that we wont see that kind of battery life in real world usage. That's why I requested owners of both QHD and FHD XPS 13 to post their real world battery life.

Hi, I have the new XPS13 QHD i7. Do not believe they battery run time quotes on the Dell website they are nothing short of a joke. From what I understand the 18 hours battery life is on the HD version when left idling, with batter saver on and screen brightness on 10%. I know they state it is UP TO 18 hours, it's still a total joke they are allowed put that on their website.

Realistically, I get about 6-7 hours of web browsing with screen on 10-20%(which is fine as the screen is pretty bright anyway). If I start to stream online content, it drains the battery a little quicker. I haven't really done anything else with mine to give it a good test, had it a few weeks now.

There are some rumours that there is a driver issue with the new models which use the NVMe ssd drive which is draining the battery. The newer model has a larger battery and the new Intel Skylake processor so should of had better battery life then the previous version, but it seems to be worse.

Its not terrible battery for a QHD screen, but its nothing spectacular. I think the Mac Pros with a similar screen, get 10+ hours.

I tried to reply to you but it seems as though the moderators deemed my reply offensive? as my reply has not appeared.

The true battery life on this laptop is 6-7 hours light use (web browsing)

I went for the FHD edition, because of the battery life..

After the new bios update (1.1.7) the battery life improved a lot.

For mixed usage I get ~12 hours. But when using only word and pdf it only consumes ~3W/h, which should yield 18 hours (if done for a whole cycle). http://i.imgur.com/dyqtPOU.png

the worst battery ever my friend!

it is the first and the last time that I am using a Dell laptop. I bought XPS 13 9350 and the battery lasts at most 4 hours just serfing on the internet.

My FHD 9350 laptop lasts about 2.5-3 hours of real world usage (surfing, watching videos on Youtube and Twitch).
