sounds promising, have you had a chance to download and test it? wondering whether to go up after just after downgrading to v2.1.0 to see if there's any improvement
That's what I've been wondering as well. If someone can test this update, do let us know. I can't test until my finals are done.
Has anyone tried new bios 2.4.2? Are laptops still reboots after upgrade?
I have 2.2.1 bios version and i have 3 reboots in 2 days, but next 2 days it works with no rebbots only on battery.
What causes the reboots? Is it happens only if you run on battery?
I bought xps 13 two days ago, so it comes with bios 2.2.1 and i didnt downgrade it yet. If 2.4.2 is good solution for upgrade, but i read it still has reboots. Otherwise i will downgrade it to 2.1.0.
I said i will wait for the user experience of 2.4.2
i'm surprised your 13 days old XPS came with 2.2.1 when 2.3.0 was the current version up until 2 days ago.
where have you read that 2.4.2 still reboots?
i bought mine 2 weeks ago and it shipped with v2.3.0
i see your thread has 1 person saying 2.4.2 is fine and 1 person saying 2.4.2 is not fine.
why didn't you downgrade to v2.1.0 which doesn't have any issues with reboots?
i will wait few day for some v2.4.2 experinece. Yesterday and today i hadnt have any reboot on battery runnig form 100% to 20%.
If there will be any problems i can still downgrade to v2.1.0
Currently speaking to a Dell technician. He personally recommends downgrading to BIOS 2.1.0 as that is the fix that seems to be working for everyone. He just helped me install 2.1.0 on my own Dell XPS 13, so the timer starts...let's see if this thing shuts down. If after 3 weeks, there is not a single shut down, then it is confirmed: BIOS 2.1.0 is the fix.
