Dell XPS 13 - won't charge battery
I have an XPS 13 from 2012. I do not have the power cord that it came with, but do have a new one that is Dell brand. When plugged it, the computer will work, but does not charge. When I start up the computer I get a message that I am not using the correct cord. This cord has worked for the last 6-9 months.
I did call Dell out of warranty service and they ran some diagnostics that all checked out ok.
Any ideas?

If the battery is the original one, replace it. Buy the original adapter too. Just because it is a dell adapter it doesn't mean it is the correct one.
edit--Try removing the battery and use just the adapter alone. If that works use it that way until you can buy a new battery or a new computer. Or always use it as a desktop replacement and save the money for a new computer.
