Dell XPS 17 (L702x) display driver crash - after effects

Hi,

I have Dell XPS 17 (L702x) laptop,

while working with adobe after effects, the screen goes black and returns with the dialog message bellow "display driver crashed & succesfully returned"
The programs shut down and I have to restart it.
The situation continues very ofter while working with video footages. The problem persists from the the begining when I bought a laptop. System is windows 7 64-bit.

Is there a way to fix this?

Thank you,

Justin

Hi justinas.on,

You can update the BIOS, Chipset and uninstall the video driver and then re-install the video driver in the system. Please use the link below to download the drivers.

http://dell.to/Y4bsIZ  BIOS

Please connect the Ac Adapter while updating the BIOS and do not use the system once the update is initiated and until the system restarts completely

http://dell.to/SaLJZA  Chipset

Please uninstall the existing video driver from the system using the program and features and re-install the video driver. Please follow the steps below.

Start > in search box type in programs and features > select the video driver> right click on it > uninstall the driver. Please use the link below to install the video driver.

http://dell.to/XJCvwV  Intel video driver HD 3000

http://dell.to/TTbLS6  NVidia driver

Please install the driver in the exact order. After updating the drivers and still the problem persists then the video card may be faulty.

Hi justinas.on,

Re-installation of windows is not required for a BIOS update.
