Dell XPS15 9550 Ubuntu 16.04

Anyone Successfully install Ubuntu 16.04 on an XPS15 9550?

I have 15.10 working great. It took a lot of work to get it working this good.

When trying to upgrade my kernel to 4.5, it was unbootable. That's why I'm hesitant.

It took a lot of effort to install 14.04 on this machine. I'm not sure if it would be easier to do so for 16.04. I don't really want to touch those system settings/

Actually it went smoothly! I even got it to dual boot and upgraded to kernel 4.5.2!

Did you have to disable the fast boot option while doing so? I've heard the intel rapid cache does not work with ubuntu

It works well, there are some tweaks to make it usable on a daily basis, I blogged an optmization tutorial for it here:

Have fun

I did disable it. But I'm not sure I had to.

My first attempt failed. Because I was at Ubuntu 15.10 (no windows)

I wiped the drive, installed WIndows 10, updated the firmware/bios, then set bios to factory default.

That's when things got weird.

So I removed RAID support and re-enabled UEDI access from the OS.

Re-installed Windows 10 and all it's drivers. Then Installed Ubuntu, enabled proprietary drives, installed kernel 4.5.2. All is working great!

My only complaint is the trackpad. I had it perfect before. I can't remember what I did...
