Dell XPS15 L502X subwoofer crackling sound

Hi All,

recently after installing windows 8 my subwoofer has started producing crackling sounds when playing any video or music..i went through many similar posts on this forum but none helped...i reinstalled my windows 7 64bit provided by Dell itself and installed all the updated drivers...still its producing the same crackling sound.

it very irritating and also this laptop's one of the fascinating feature was subwoofer..i want it working can anyone help me with this??

and i expect Dell to go through this once.

Hello. Have you listened for the crackling through headphones? If the noise is not in the 'phones, only in the speaker, then probably the speaker needs to be replaced. This is particularly likely if the issue happens with both Win7 and 8, and with different audio drivers.

You can find the instructions for replacing the speaker on page 75 of the XPS L502x Service Manual.
