Sounds like your hard drive is toast - press F12 at powerup to get to the Dell diagnostics. Run an extended test.
done that and confirmed the grilled toast with f12 already, how do I get dell to download the software when I cannot go online directly on this laptop to download it.
You will need to do that from a working system - and transfer the drivers, etc by flash drive.
