DDR3 is completely incompatible with a DDR-2 mainboard - it won't even fit the sockets.

This is the specs pulled of the web.
Studio 1450: Uses Intel Pentium and Core 2 Duo processors, DDR3 memory, and standard Intel GMA X4500MHD integrated graphics.
Hope this helps

Unplug the system, remove the battery and hold the power button for 30 sec. Remove and reinstall both ORIGINAL memory modules. If the system will POST (start to load Windows), press F12 before Windows loads and boot to the Dell diagnostics. Run a complete memory and hard drive test.
Any errors?
