Dell vostro 5480 subwoofer isn't working

Hello!

I have bought this laptop a few days ago. It has Ubuntu 14.04 LTS OS. And I have issues with my audio. Voice is very low. It seems to me that my subwoofer isn't working at all. I was trying to find driver on Dell website, but there is no driver for Ubuntu 14.04. Can you help me?

Thank you!

Hello. That's correct -- Dell is not providing any driver support for Ubuntu on the Vostro 5480. That model has audio hardware made by Realtek. You can get a Linux driver directly from its website, but I don't know anything about that OS or whether the Linux driver will work with your Ubuntu OS.

To get one direct from the Realtek site,
Go to the Realtek downloads selection page. www.realtek.com.tw/downloads
On the page click on "High Definition Audio Codecs".
Check "I accept" and then "next".
Scroll down to the Unix section.
