Disable additional GPU through BIOS/EFI

It is possible in a Inspiron 15R SE to completely disable the AMD graphic card through BIOS/EFI and just use the integrated Intel HD 4000? Thanks.

Hi mkotechno,

There is no setting in BIOS that would enable/disable the graphics card however you could use the “Catalyst Control center” to use AMD Switchable Graphics.

Please find the steps below for the same.

  1. Click the Start button and select Programs
  2. Click Catalyst Control Center
  3. Click Power and select Switchable Graphics
  4. Choose an application from the list or browse and select an application and assign the appropriate GPU

Hi mkotechno,

Unfortunately there is no option to completely disable the AMD card.

Simply set the Catalyst control panel to use the integrated video for the software in question.
