Displays refer to integrated intel-hd-graphics-3000 and NOT to installed nvidia-geforce-gt-525m

Hi

I have recently purchased a Dell Inspiron 17, and I had requested installation of nvidia-geforce-gt-525m.

I am seeing within the Windows 7 Control Panel under devices the controller for nvidia-geforce-gt-525m.

However, when I select a display (for either the laptop's or to an attached external monitor) and its advanced settings, it refers to the integrated graphics component intel-hd-graphics-3000, and not to the installed nvidia-geforce-gt-525m.

Why is this occurring, and how can I correct it?

Thanks

Use the optimus control panel to direct applications to the nVidia chip.

I did us the nVidia Control panel, like changing the resolution, but nvidia-geforce-gt-525m control panel was NOT responsive.

However, the when selecting (right-click desktop Graphic Options), the intel-hd-graphics-3000 control panel appears and not nvidia-geforce-gt-525m's, and changing the resolution is responsive.

Correction: "I did use the nVidia control panel ..."
