Downloading Drivers to Desktop?

So whenever I try to update my drivers and download, it always sets the desktop as the location. I think it's affecting the laptop cause whenever I check device manager the new driver I installed doesn't appear. I have Inspiron N4110, and I was wondering if there was some way I could reset it so whenever I download/install it'll be set to its proper folder. I don't know how to navigate it manually, thank you!

Also, on a somewhat unrelated note, I'm trying to update because I'm having high latency issues, so if that is affecting it somehow???
