Drivers for Dell Wireless™ DW5808 Gobi 4G/LTE full Mini-Card on Precision M6800 Running Windows 10

This is a follow up post to my original post about Mobile Broadband on M6800.  

I purchased the Dell Wireless™ DW5808 Gobi 4G/LTE full Mini-Card (Manufacturer Part# : 1N1FY | Dell Part# : 1N1FY) and installed it in my Precision M6800.  I went to my local Verizon store and picked up the correct SIM card (based on the IMEI of the card). 


After powering up my laptop, Windows 10 recognized the card and reported it needed a driver.  I went to Dell's website and downloaded what I thought was the correct driver and installed it.  The installation reported that the driver was successfully installed, however Windows Device manager reports the card still has no driver. 

Wash, rinse, repeat over and over again.  So far I have tried all of these drivers, and every one reports the installation went correctly, but Windows 10 Device Manager reports the card has no driver.

Because I purchased the card from another Vendor (Amazon), Dell Support will not help me -they tell me I need to contact Amazon. (Laptop is still under valid warranty, but it wasn't originally ordered with the card, so they won't provide support). 


Am I doing something wrong?  Is there a magic hidden driver that works?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Devin,


I am sorry to hear that you're having trouble with the new card, I am certain this is the right card from our previous discussion.


Anyway, from the sounds of it you're doing everything correctly. When you get a chance please send me a Private Message with your Service Tag, I am going to be out of the office until Monday but will try to look into this further and see if there are any other steps we can try. Hopefully in the meantime someone else might have some tips.


Let me know if you find anything else out.
