Error: the reader is not installed on this machine

I have a Latitude E6410 that I'm having problems with. On boot up it goes to a black screen with this error message: ERROR  "The reader is not installed on this machine. To install reader, press any key to restart your computer and run the reader installer. If the reader is installed on this pc, please check if the reader is installed on an encrypted hard drive.....Press any button to continue". Anyone know how to deal with this? Thanks

Hi ciccionetta,

Please log in to the BIOS screen by repeatedly tapping F2 key on boot up. Go to "System configuration" Tab and disable the “Latitude On” Reader.

Hi ciccionetta,

Latitude ON is a software application to enable instant access to critical applications. The user will boot to this application via a dedicated hardware button on the chassis of the notebook.

You could install the Dell Reader 2.0 from the below link.

Thanks for the response. I don't want or need this program and I don't understand why the computer is getting this error message when it boots. How do I eliminate this problem?
