Hello Everybody,

Exactly a year old Dell Inspiron 15R Special Edition 7520 laptop (originally it was a replacement by Dell for a defective shipment which had a white patch on the screen) switched off suddenly on opening a new tab in IE 10.0 browser. On power on, now it is not even loading the BIOS but just gives out 4 beeps every few seconds. Previous night the battery was indicating as low and prior to the abrupt switch off it was not connected to power chord. What could be the reason and any solution?

Regards,

Shiva

Found this for you in a quick search....on dell support forums...they might use the same beep codes in many models....

Hi matadatz,

Welcome to the Community.

Four beep codes in N 5040 system indicates a Memory failure. In order to resolve it you can try to reseat the memory sticks. Also if there are 2 memory sticks in the system remove one and then check to isolate the bad memory stick.

Please reply with the outcome.

Thank you
