Exchange or repair Inspiron 6000?

Hi,

I've had a little accident with my laptop computer.

I've accidently knocked over a cola on the keyboard and now one of the mouse buttons doesn't work and som of the buttons are sticky and hard to press.

I have a 1 years of fetching service and would like to know if it covers this kind of accident?

If it doesn't i would like to know how much its gonna cost to get it repaired?

Best Regards

Ricki

If your warranty includes "Complete Care" coverage, then the spill would be covered under your warranty. If not, you'll be responsible for any expenses.

You can check your warranty coverage here:

Otherwise, I'd search for the instructions on drying your computer out after a spill. Since this involved Cola, you'll probably want to get in there with some alcohol to do some cleaning to prevent further damage. If the only permanant damage is the keyboard and the mouse, I'd order another keyboard from Dell (they're cheap and pretty easy to install), and use an external mouse.

Best of luck!

Immediately remove the keyboard to ensure none of the cola leaked below. A keyboard and the touchpad can both be replaced for under $100.

If the cola hit the mainboard, it will eventually cause a short and destroy it. That's a $500 part alone.
