Fan Failure?

I have an Inspiron 8200 and it utilizes one set of 2 fans located on the back right. I have recently noticed that (when looking at the back) the right hand fan has stopped spinning. I have never noticed whether both always run or not, so I was wondering if both SHOULD be running, or does the 2nd fan only kick in when it is needed?

Both fans only kick in if they're needed. Just to be sure, download the Dell Diagnostics and run the fan tests

Just wanted to add something. If you want to manually control the fans, use a program called i8kfangui to set a specific temperature on when you want your fans to turn on and off.

Thanks for this program! I've had problems with the left fan not working, but running this program does indeed make it work..thanks a lot!!
