It's possible your Antivirus software could have block the update.I would.....

1.Disable(temporarily) your anti-virus software

2.Uninstall/remove update's KB3035583

3.Restart computer

4. Scan for updates

5. Reinstalled KB3035583

Note: Did you click on the "Reserve Your Free Upgrade" in the link above ?

That fixed it. However the PC check says the Broadcom wireless adapter won't work correctly. That may be why it offer to reserve didn't show up in the first place. I expect if I check later the warning may go away, it did on a program I'm running on other computers.

That fixed it.  Thanks!

I don't understand your note. I have reserved on some computers and not on others in the past few days.

" Why don’t I have the Get Windows 10 app" ?

  1. Your device isn’t up-to-date with at least Windows 7 SP1 or Windows 8.1 Update.
  2. Windows Update is turned off or is not set to received updates automatically.
  3. You’ve blocked or uninstalled the necessary Windows Update functionality.
  4. Your device is not running genuine Windows.

Running Windows Update and installing any available updates will fix the first three issues.

The icon isn't in the taskbar.  Using the "Customize" up arrow does not show the icon to be available. I have several other Windows 7 and Windows 8 computers, they all have the icon.

It has all updates, nothing has been turned off it is configured just like my other Win 7 computers. The OS is exactly what was received on the computer from Dell.

The window 10 icon is actually part of an application as a recommended Windows update (KB3035583). Check your windows updates for it.If my memory serves me correctly, update's KB3035583 came out between April and June 1.

Yes, it was installed on 5/28. Perhaps MS has determined they don't have all the right drivers/whatever available for this computer. I also have a 10-inch Winbook tablet running Win 8.1 that doesn't show the update. However my Dell Venue 10 does show the update.
