HOW TO TURN WIRELESS ON FOR A LAPTOP...F2 KEY?

I have seen other posts saying to press the F2 key to turn on wireless capability. My question is ...how do i know when  the F2 key is "on" vs "off"? It doesnt light up and i cant find any other area on my Dell E1545 laptop where it shows up as a light or some other indicator. Stupid question i guess but i cant find it. Appreciate the help.

Thanks for the reply. I do see the wireless indicator on the sys tray but it is always there from what i can tell whether i press the F2 button on or off. i assume if i press it once it turns it on and if i press it again it turns it off...correct? I do see a red X come onto the wireless indicator on the sys tray so maybe that is the answer....if the red X is showing the F2 button is NOT ON and if it isnt the F2 button IS ON????

Thanks again. :emotion-1:

If Dell quickset is loaded, you should see a notification that wireless is on, in the system tray.

That would be correct - the indicator shows when wireless is active or not with the presence or absence of the "X".
