Heating problem
Hi Guys!
I have an e6430, with i5-3340m CPU, and it can get really hot sometimes. Just surfing on the net, the temperature can go above 60C degree. Is that normal? There isn't too many programs in the back, and I cleaned the laptop with adware cleaner, and malware bytes anti malware. In the process explorer, I see around 1-5% CPU load, that isn't much, and still the laptop is quite hot, while the fans are on low rpm like 2500. It's like it doesn't detect, when and how much should the fan work. Any guess?

Are there any bluescreens / system crashes? Does this happen with or without the adapter connected? Are you using the original Dell adapter? Does the system overheat and turn off automatically or does the system freeze? What is the current OS installed on the system?
Update the BIOS - http://dell.to/28VyHAc - restart the system and reinstall the video drivers and chipset drivers from the same site.
Reinstall the nvidia drivers from vendor site - http://bit.ly/1YpNLLv
If the system still overheats, then download the service manual - http://dell.to/28Xv8io and clean the airvents and the fan assembly with a small vacuum cleaner or a can of compressed air.
If the system is being used as a desktop, then you could consider using a laptop cooling pad - http://amzn.to/28YYonl - this will help ensure there is no excess heat accumulated in the machine.
Download and use speedfan - http://bit.ly/Yznvna - to monitor the fan activity and temperatures.

I updated the chipser driver, however my BIOS was up to date as far as I know (A18). Hope it will help

You can buy a cooling pad or chill mat which will help reduce the system temperatures.

Your CPU has a junction temperature of 105C degrees, 60 is absolutely nothing to worry about. I have the same model and it goes up to 80-85 when gaming, I still haven't experienced any problems with it.
