Help! Latitude d500 USB driver issues

Hi- 

I need some major help I've tried everything.  I just bought this latitude d500 with windows 7 already installed on it and the usb ports do not work on it.  I figured it was just a driver issue so I installed the latest driver and still no luck.  So now I am thinking is the BIOS version not compatable with Windows 7? I've tried reinstalling the usb drives and all the normal things. Thanks

The version of BIOS is : Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS version 1.10 a10
