??Help - UPDATE to "Unexplained soft fades" I connected a VGA external monitor to laptop. NO Problems found. Screen refresh is normal. However, you can look to the duplicate image on the laptop screen and yes there is still a strong color shift and the words fade slowly away when any new words appear. And the words that do appear slowly increase from fade light to dark. Either way, there is still a problem with the screen. But the question can't be it's a bad screen, because the screen in DOS is as it should. Thanks everyone.

So if the external display works fine than it is unlikely a software or driver issue, as it is the same software and drivers that power the external monitor and well as the integrated LCD.
You may want to go and adjust the power settings as that can effect the LCD screen without effecting an external monitor. In windows look for power options in control panel. I suggest turning off any options to dim the screen.
