How can I disable the trackstick on my keyboard permanently?

I have a Dell Latitude E6410 and the track/ pointer stick has a mind of it's own. If I ever move the computer or sometimes if I even bump the table it's on, the pointer stick gets jostled and it will aggressively drag the mouse across the screen to one corner or the other, making it nearly impossible to navigate or accomplish anything. Despite my many attempts to disable it and restore my sanity, I've been unsuccessful. Hopefully someone has a solution?

Hi kaylynnifer,

The track stick can be disabled independently from the other pointer devices through the Dell track pad software. I would recommend updating to the latest edition available from the support site (http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/latitude-e6410/drivers ) before making changes, but depending on the software revision installed the options location can change:
