How do I install device drivers on Inspiron 15?

I have an Inspiron 15. The hard drive went out on it, so I've installed a new one. Have installed my OS. Now I need to install the device drivers. I've downloaded them all as an iso files and burned that to a DVD.

I cannot click on any of the individual files on the DVD -- they all start with /, and I get an error message saying Windows can't find the file when I double-click.

If I try to use control panel to update the driver for a specific device and point to that DVD, I get an error message saying it cannot find the device driver on that DVD.

Help, please?

Good day,

Thank you for writing to Dell Tech support.

For OS beyond windows 7 the system installs drivers on its own, however there can be instances were in the drivers are missing.

Given  in this situation do forward the service tag of the system along with the OS information and screenshot of the device manager so that accordingly I can locate the missing the drivers to assist you with the relevant drivers.

Hoping to hear from you soon.

Regards,

What model of Inspiron 15 there are many that have 4 digits e.g. Inspiron 15 5537? What are the hardware IDs and what version of Windows?

Regarding your DVD it sounds like the files on it are corrupt.

If the drivers are corrupt, then that would be a problem with how Dell handles downloading drivers, or with my understanding of how I'm supposed to do that. All I did was select the drivers from the Dell website, ask it to create an iso, and then burned that iso to my DVD. Did that twice, with the same result. Surely shouldn't be corrupting the files!

Service tag removed per privacy policy. Model is Inspiron 15 3521 OS is Windows 7 with SP1.

Because this is a fresh install of Win7 on a new hard drive, many of the devices don't have their drivers. (Yes, it would be nice if the person who owned this computer had provided me with the original disks. He did not.) But if I can get the drivers for two of the devices to work, I'm sure the rest would follow:

Ethernet Controller

PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_05971028&REV_05
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&SUBSYS_05971028
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_020000
PCI\VEN_10EC&DEV_8136&CC_0200

Network Controller

PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028&REV_01
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&SUBSYS_020C1028
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_028000
PCI\VEN_168C&DEV_0036&CC_0280
