How does on boot from USB-C (USB 3.1) media on XPS 9550 (late 2015 model)

I've got ADATA Dual USB thumb-drive, i.e. it has USB-A 3.0 and USB-C 3.1 ends. I can plug any end and access data on MS Windows.

I have BIOS 1.1.19 installed. I can boot using USB 3.0 end (mode), but I can not boot from USB-C (USB 3.1). Do I need to enable some option in BIOS or is it simply not possible?

Here is a fairly helpful document on booting to USB -C.

Please enable below two options to support boot from external device.

  1. At boot, Press the F2 key (or alternately press the F12 key then select the option to enter the BIOS setup).
  2. In POST Behavior, Select - Fastboot the select the Thorough option.

Please let me know if you have tried this before and still have the problem.  I will be sending you a friend request in case you continue to have problems and i will need to get your information.
