How to take backup of Windows 8 OS?
Hi,
Can someone guide me how to take the backup of Windows 8 OS from Dell Inspiron machine? I dont want to take the entire system backup but OS back up alone would do. Please provide detailed steps.

You cannot install on a different system - unless that system is also a Dell that shipped with the same OS version - the OEM copy is locked to a code embedded into the system board.
8G won't cut it - you need a 16G or larger flash drive.

I inserted NTFS format 8GB flash drive and tried with create system image, but i get message saying "This drive is not a valid backup location". Also please tell me which one i have to select "Create system image" or "Create Repair Disc"? what is the difference? I would like install OS from this machine on another machine as i will be installing Win8.1Pro on this.

Sorry, I don't know the difference you mentioned "the entire system backup and OS back up"
entire system ≠ OS?
Or you meaning the whole disk? entire system=C+E+D+F... OS=C. right?
About Win 8, besides windows built-in tool, you can try third-party tool such as Ghost and aomei backupper.
