nickush,
Start, control panel, network and sharing center, click on your connection, click on properties.
Look for TCP/IPv4 and TCP/IPv6 and click on properties for each. Have your settings match mine.
Go to Drivers & Downloads enter your service tag number, then select your operating system. Under Network, download and install the latest drivers.
Try these tweaks....
Start, control panel, device manager. Click on Network and then right click on your wireless adapter, left click properties, power management. Uncheck the box, allow computer to turn off this device to save power.
Click on advanced, look for Antenna Diversity. Change Antenna Diversity from Auto to Aux.
Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.

Hi nickush,
Check the status in safe mode with networking. Restart the computer and tap F8 on Dell logo and select Safe mode with networking. Now check if the issue persists.
Disconnect the data card and check the IP address for the wireless LAN adapter.
Also, let me know if you encounter any error message while connecting to wireless network.
Did you try connecting this computer to a different wireless network?
Awaiting your response!

Thanks Rajesh Sir,
I tried checking it in safe mode with networking. Following are details in this regard:
Windows IP Configuration
Host Name . . . . . . . . . . . . : nickush
Primary Dns Suffix . . . . . . . :
Node Type . . . . . . . . . . . . : Hybrid
IP Routing Enabled. . . . . . . . : No

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-22-5F-8D-76-5B
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
Wireless LAN adapter Wireless Network Connection:

Physical Address. . . . . . . . . : 00-22-5F-8D-76-5B
DHCP Enabled. . . . . . . . . . . : Yes
Autoconfiguration Enabled . . . . : Yes
Link-local IPv6 Address . . . . . : fe80::d5c3:c405:e548:ca9%14(Preferred)
Autoconfiguration IPv4 Address. . : 169.254.12.169(Preferred)

DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : fec0:0:0:ffff::1%1
fec0:0:0:ffff::2%1
fec0:0:0:ffff::3%1
NetBIOS over Tcpip. . . . . . . . : Enabled
Secondly, system showed me two errors:
1. Resetting the router (Tried but didn't work)
2. Checking the IP configuration (Tried but didn't work)
Another thing, my DHCP is 'Enabled'. But when I feed manual IP(not automatic detecting) IP, the DHCP turns into 'Not Enabled' mode. This came out while trying the above second option of checking the IP configuration.
Kindly apprise me about the next steps to be taken in this regard. Thanks !

Sir, I tried those tweaks but it didn't work. Secondly, I don't have 'Antenna Diversity'(under Advanced tab) I guess because I can't see anything with this name.
Go to the power options, and changed the Wireless Adapter Setting, from Maximum Power Setting to Maximum Performance.

nickush,
Rajesh and I work as a team. I usually work and let Rajesh get back to you. Please contin ue with Rajesh unless the issue is corrected by using me advice below.
I joined the threads because you posted in two places. If prevents too many solutions.
Your 169.254 ip address tells me there is a problem with the router(s) communicating.
Power off your ISP modem/router and your wireless router(if any) for 30 seconds. Then power on the ISP modem/router. Wait 15 seconds, then power on the wireless router(if any)
Restart the computer and try to connect.
What happens?

nickush,
What virus program and firewall are you using?
Did this just start happening? If yes, use system restore and go back to the first restore point before Tuesday April 9th, 2013. There was a Microsoft update that caused connection issues. See if that resolves the problem.

I've already tried this twice but in vain.
Thanks for your informing about you and Rajesh & the related approach taken to solve this issue.

Presently I am using AVG which I got after replacing the Avast; windows firewall. Tried even restoring the point but system failed to restore it. Also secondly, the oldest restore point is just 3 days back. And I'm facing this issue for more than a week.
Also to inform, I've updated the wifi adapter with drivers. Do you think the problem occurred due to some alteration in DHCP?

nickush,
Try reading this Microsoft article
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2839011
The restart the computer and try to connect. If you cannot connect, then try removing AVG using the AVG Removal Tool, restart the computer and try to connect.
What happens.
Try reading How to repair a connection and use the instructions on how to reset the winsock catalog
