I can't understand my warranty!! New Inspiron delivered with cracked LCD!!

Please Help!!  I spent a lot of time digging and reading and could not wait for my new Inspiron 13 7000 series to arrive-well due to a succession of life issues I have finally plugged up turned on and noticed the LCD Touch screen to be jumpy....turned it on tonight and my husband pointed out the small crack on the right side near the edge of the screen-if I look from a side angle its quite long!!   So I access my Dell account, look at my order, and I'll be da***ed if I can't read the Warranty!!!  Please someone help ease my mind just a little, and interpret this for me since dell support is closed!!!!

Am I covered??? I received the laptop about 3 weeks ago-and if they check they can see I have not even been on it maybe 20 minutes-

I am so upset as this is my first real laptop/touchscreen comp and I am devastated right now..

Any kind words would be greatly appreciated

Hi, I got the same Dell laptop as yours one month ago.  I seldom used it till this week.  All of the sudden, the screen has a big crack yesterday.  I never dropped it or anything.  Do you know what happens to yours?  Did Dell fix yours without any cost?   I think I should have a one-year warranty.

Thanks.

Did they fix it or did they charge you?

If the system arrived with a cracked screen, contact the shipping company to file a claim.  If it was cracked after you received it, the only way it's covered is if you purchased insurance on the system (complete care) -- the warranty doesn't cover accidental damage (which is what a cracked screen will be considered).

I have experienced the same thing! I have met with little help from Dell as they say it's customer induced damage, therefore not covered under the warranty. However, it seems to be a design flaw, thus they should cover the repairs.
