I would like to upgrade my Dell Studio XPS 1645 to an SSD, any advice?

Is there a limit on size?

Which SATA?

Thanks!

There should be no issues, though the system is old enough that you won't see full performance from an SSD (it's a SATA 3G system).

It'll still blow away any hard drive in performance though -- you would likely be best off buying a kit that includes a 2.5 mm spacer with the drive (most SSDs are 7 mm, while the hard drive you have is a 9.5 mm unit).

Hi,

We would not suggest the upgrade as it may lead to issues.

Thanks

Thanks. Do you think this would be ok: www.amazon.co.uk/.../ref=sr_1_1;qid=1449064618&sr=8-1&keywords=samsung+evo

It's the "Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB 2.5-Inch Solid State Drive".
