INSPIRON 1300 error code: 1/-3/10900 issue on re-installation...

running win xp pro...laptop blue-screened on installation of System Mechanic...tried known good config...failed...tried earlier system restore point...failed...system became more unstable decided to re-install....Now each reboot brings up flag which states "fatal error...error-code:1/-3/10900...see doc#5305" and flag in taskbar..."adapter error  driver not installed..."  examination of device manager indicates ? against Other Devices with ?'s set against two Unknowns....

Network Adapters indicates my BT Voyager 1010 WiFi is ok but direct connect via ethernet is not indicated ...can anybody help...it's my Wife's laptop and my ears are hurting....question is which adapter driver do I need and where do I find doc#5305..?   Although my WiFi looks ok it is not hackling with my BT Home Hub ADSL so no IP...
