INSPIRON MINI: Shocking shoddy goods and service

I ordered a new Dell Mini a month ago.  It arrived two weeks ago.  The item is fine.

I've given it light use and this weekend the power pack broke.  One of the plastic pins snapped off in the plughole.  I was stunned - no plug has EVER done that for me for any appliance.

I contacted Dell and was told that I needed to send a photo.  I did so and have been told that the whole unit must be returned as the powerpacks are not separate items.

I now face the prospect of having to arrange a return of the whole PC - and then for 7 days without it while a replacement is found.

Its not the service I would expect.

If you are still within the 21 day return period, you could return it. Otherwise, I am not sure what to recommend. If you have mail in support, they are doing exactly what they should....

Yes, I'd be very interested to see what "pin" and which "plughole".
