The computer is booting to a blank black screen with just the cursor visible, tried to reboot the computer a few times with time in between, and tried to remove the battery which I don't think is possible on this laptop and nothing helped. Any suggestions on getting past the blank black boot screen?

Hi ASilentCircus,
Please follow the steps mentioned below to run the “LCD Test”.
Switch off the computer > Press and hold down the ‘D’ key on the keyboard and press the Power button > you will see different colors on the LCD screen. During the LCD test please check if the display goes black?
In addition connect a known good monitor and check if the display works?

I got the computer to boot into safe mode and then I rolled back my display driver and rebooted and it seems to be working fine now.
