Inspiron 1150 Backlight goes dark...P4/2.8/512MB/XP Pro
Great machine, haven't had an issue with it for 4 years. Recently the backlight will go out for no apparent reason. Out of warranty, of course...
Has anyone experienced a similar issue and was it the high voltage transformer? I hate to think what Dell would want for repair.

Not sure the actual b/l is the culprit, rather the inverter. I'd like to troubleshoot to the lowest level (BA in Electronics).

Those 2 companies also sell inverters. Wouldn't hurt contacting them.
BTW, I also have a BA in Electronics...
