Inspiron 1420 Video Card

My 2 1/2 yr old Inspiron has succumbed to the dreaded Nvidia 8400 video card melt down. Is it possible to replace the card with some other video card, or am I stuck with a computer with a faulty video system and I should chuck it?

There's no separate card -- you'd have to replace the entire mainboard.

There is a version with Intel-integrated video -- you will need a new heatsink for it if you choose to use this instead of another nVidia-based board.

Re: Inspiron 1420 Video Card

I guess, if i get the MB replaced with another Nvidia, I'll just have more of the same, so, if I want to use the puter in the future, this would be the only logical way to go........
