Inspiron 1420, nvidia GeForce 8400M Gs failed

Inspiron 1420, nvidia GeForce 8400M GS

Hello dear community, I am from Mexico.

I own a laptop inspiron 1420 with nvidia video card which has already failed two months ago. The guarantee, of course, is expired, from 13 May 2009.

In my country never knew that the nvidia chips were predisposed to fail.

My question is: What I can do to make nvidia or dell to take over the costs of repair or replacement of the motherboard? Since both nvidia and dell continued to sell, knowing that these chips had a defect.

I know Dell has sued Nvidia for this and certainly have an economic benefit, but I as a consumer, how do I benefit from the hearing of December? http://nvidiasettlement.com/

In the technical support of Mexico, I replied to the mail I sent. Maybe because I sent from the laptop, you can not see. Or did not.

Please someone who can guide me.

The Dell extension has expired, so no luck there.  You can see if the site below applies in Mexico, but note that the settlement is limited to $2 million - meaning you might be lucky to get a few dollars/pesos in compensation - at best.
