Inspiron 15 (3531, Mid 2014) - Bios Updates

Hi:

i recently bought this machine. The other day i decided to update the drivers and bios. While there were no issues updating  to latest sound and video driver but bios updates ain't working at all. Current Bios installed is A01 , i tried updating it to the latest version A03 but the patch file 3531A03.exe downloaded from Dell's website is giving this error "InsydeFlash Application has stopped working." Searched forum as well as other sites but could not find any remedies.

Therefore Appreciate any help in the matter.

Happy New Year and Regards

Hey just got this to work if anyone is still stuck on it. You need to create a dos bootable flash drive, put the new bios on it, and run it from dos. Use something like Rufus to create your flash drive. Set to Fat32, and freedos. It actually explains this in the installation instructions for the bios version.
