I get and the error message " Unknow Error "  when I try to install driver  CPU_Driver_0T8F9_WN32_10.0.22_A01.EXE.  .  I am running the installer as the Administrator and have disable my AV.  Let me know if I should paste a copy of the driver installation log file.

Try re-downloading it and then try using the Extract button rather than Install.  Then go to the folder you extracted to and see what happens when you run the SetupChipset.exe file directly.

Ok, then yes in that case the installation log would be useful to post if you have it, or at least the last few lines of it leading up to the error.

There are two logs Chipset and SetupChipset which both have errors.  SetupChipset stated another version of the product is installed, but I do not see a Chipset installer in add/remove programs.

In that case I'm wondering if Windows Update has already delivered a newer version of that driver.  That wouldn't show up in Programs and Features, but it would prevent the chipset installer from running unless you ran the installer by opening Command Prompt and running "SetupChipset.exe -downgrade", but then of course you'd be downgrading.  That driver on the Dell site appears to be from either 2015, or at best 2016.  The reason I'm not sure is that it still says "Initial Release" on the download page, and sometimes the "Last Updated" date shown there just means that the text on the download page was updated and not necessarily the file itself.  Why are you trying to install this driver in the first place?  Is Device Manger showing a device that requires a driver?

I was unable to shutdown the laptop and it required a winsock reset.  I wanted to update the any out of date chipset and network drivers to eliminate any potential problems.  Laptop would not install DellDetect to confirm old drivers, but Device manager shows my chipset driver is pretty old  6/20/2014   13.2.0.1016 .  Laptop is a 2015 model.
