Inspiron 15 7000 (7537) - Can't enter bios after switching to legacy mode

Hello guys,

after switching the boot settings from uefi to legacy, I can't enter my bios anymore.

Neither with F2 nor F12.

He shows me that "Operating System can't be found".

Did the switching for testing another OS.

Is there any trick to enter the bios to switch again to uefi mode?

Thanks for any help!

Dan

Dell has problem with it's bios software. Pressing F2 at POST does not work. I found a workaround to this issue.

Turn your laptop ON and leave it on to drain the battery under 10%. Just check every 4-5 hours to see when it reaches that point. When the battery reaches 10% limit you will receive this message when you boot

Battery critical low, press F2 to enter BIOS or F1 to continue. At this stage pressing F2 takes you to the BIOS. It is an unfortunate bug from DELL and even if they release the new BIOS on 15/02/14 it does not fix his issue.

The only two ways to access bios for my 7537 are:

1. from window 8 press SHIFT KEY while clicking on RESET

2. battery drain method

Hope it was helpful

1. wait until battery drain under 10% reboot and enter bios

or

2. reconnect cmos battery

after enter bios

you need to disable secure boot in bios boot menu to prevent this thing.

Success! Solved the problem in an uncomplicated way:

  • switch off the notebook.
  • put in a external usb hard drive without os, just datas.
  • system will check the device and ask you if you want to enter bios with F2

Only way to reset your bios to uefi mode is to clear cmos by taking out batery for few minutes or changing motherboard.
