Inspiron 1520 hard drive controller
Was hoping someone could confirm that if the hard drive controller on my Inspiron 1520 is bad, that the only solution is to replace the system board. That is the advise I recieved from a PC tech. Can the controller be replaced on the mother board? If so, any one know of a source for parts?

The technician is correct. If the controller has failed, the only way to fix the problem is to replace the mainboard.
