Maybe its tried to go on sleep/standby. Remove the AC cord, then the battery wait 10 seconds. Plug in the battery and the AC cord. Then try powering it up again.
Personally I prefer Dell. I found HP software to be extremely buggy.

Thank u Natakuc4 for a prompt reply.
But it still the same.. When I hit the power button it lights up and then starts coming on every 5 seconds. Its not working... not even 3 days have passed from the day I bought it! I am worried If I have got a defected laptop! there are possibilities of that happening...
Tomorrow is Monday.. I'm going to Dell and get it fixed.
But whats the assurance this would not happen again?

Yes it seems like you have maybe got a defective system but are well within you're warranty.
You have absolutely nothing on the screen, no Dell logo or anything else?
Contact the technical support as soon as possible and demand a new system. When speaking to the support try to remain calm but also remain firm saying that you want a new system as you're one isn't powering up properly.
I think it may be a problem with the mainboard or elsewhere, they may try suggesting to send someone out to replace the part. I would instead attempt to barter with them and demand a complete new system.

Thank you again for the advise. I will definietly request for a new system. and since its only few days only and giving me trouble it has to actually be a defect product which will be trouble always. As you mentioned I will be calm and request a new system. I actually know the manager there. So Thank you so much for your support. I will give you feedback in the evening.
Leaving to Dell now.
Thanks.

Hello, to everyone !
I have the same issue, but a little more complicated. My Dell is Inspiron N 5110 With i7 2670 qm 6 gb ram , Nvidia gt 525 and 640 gb hard disc i bought it 2 months ago. So my problem is: A week ago my computer was put to sleep. Then a few hours later i tried to turn it on wihtou a success. Then i remove the battery a few times , turn it on and off to eletricity and then suddently it turns on , and continued to work without a problem. But yesterday when i was watching a movie (on battery) it just turned off and since then i can't turn it on. The power button and the first two (extra buttons from left to right) are flashing every few second , the CPU fan is tring to spin but makes only one turn and then stops, after a few seconds makes the same then again and again.....
So my question is what happens when u go to your supplier ? What's the real problem ? MotherBoard ? Or maybe the CPU fan ? When the fan is trying to spin i guess some kind of motherboard protection is turning on and that is the reason , but what cause this protection to turn on ?
Thank u , and Merry Christmas :)

You can get a refund if necessary if you are with the 21 or 30 day time period. After demanding a new system is a waste of time. Yes do be courteous. The rep can only follow the Dell rules, demanding anything else will mean you wasted your call. This sounds like a hardware issue. It happens...

Try removing the battery and AC power. With NO POWER to the system hold the power button down for at least 30 seconds, replace the battery, plug in AC and power up...same issue...call Dell warranty support. It is possibly the mbr but if you are under warranty you should be okay for replacement parts...

Be aware of mentioned model; do not buy it, since it is timed machine, filled with errors and bugs, within four month's only you will start losing your machine as in below:
One: Speaker Bass: Once you unpacked it from the box, boot it up installed windows, play any kind of music file, you will notice that one of the speakers are defected and you will start hearing a clear bass problem.
Two: Display adapter freeze: This machine is not heavy duty at all, it is not helpful as a gaming laptop, simple folders copying, you tube watching or any type of simple process "proved in video"
Three: Touch pad lose: After installing the proper touchpad driver/utility, you will notice that touch pad/mouse cursor is randomly hanged in any place of screen or might just hang on scrolling up or down/ right or lift.
Four: Internal HDD writing/reading sound: While you are using your machine trying to access a simple local folder/copying a file to an external HDD/flash disk/memory or any kind of internal HDD reading/writing, you will notice a squeezing sound within a calm atmosphere, this is a huge problem when you are call/voice chatting and using the internal microphone, other party will complaint from this sound.
Five: HDMI connection: try to connect your machine to any type of LED/LCD screen/TV 32"/42" any size or brand; you will notice that the screen is cut by three centimeters from all four angels, do not waste your time by switching connection modes using windows seven; projector only/duplicate, the problem will last no matter how hard you tried. Or what any of driver you install.
Six: Bluetooth adapter: sudden Bluetooth internal dongle/adapter loss, you will never find it within device manager.
Seven: Three utilities buttons "up right corner": only one is active, two reset buttons are for fun only, there is not any utility/application available within dell support page.

Hello.
I tried this suggestion with success... but only for a few days. The same problem came back to the laptop.
I tried again and now it's really dead. Nothing's happening... no lights, no sounds, nothing. But before it's complete fall, I received a 3 beep warning (with lights on and screen off).
Does anyone know what's going on? Any other suggestions?
Thx!

I had the same issues and when the battery was taken out and only running on AC power it ran fine. After about 8 hours over 3 days with Dell technical support they finally agreed to send a new battery. No problems since. Have you tried running only on AC power?

Uh-Oh! That doesn't sound good to me either. I have the generation before yours. The N5010. Just without the changing lids. I do have in i3 Processor, 283gb hard drive, 3gb RAM, and same graphics card. Now I have had problems with mine too. I had a virus on it two days after I got it, even with Mcafee software, a file corruption, and bluetooth card problems. I do think that the warranty should replace you laptop. Find a laptop service center and see if they can save your files on your hard drive. If they can, save that hard drive and get your new laptop, and either transfer the files from your old hard drive to the new laptop or just switch out the hard drives. Sounds to me there might have been a either a short circuit or an over heat of one of the processors. I have notice in my laptop if you go into the device manager and go under Processors there is four that come up. On my cousin's gateway he has two that come up. And for a future laptop/computer you should get a mac. Doesn't matter if its used or new. From what I have heard from my relatives they kick <ADMIN NOTE: Profanity removed as per TOU>.
Good Luck!
