Inspiron 1721 Does not start up (no post)
When you try and power up the laptop you hear the fan and the DVD drive, but nothing else. Still charges battery ok.
Followed Dell fault diagnoses and when using the PSA boot method (hold down key on power up and releash both together got the three Lock LEDS all light up then the First 2 flashing and the last one on, which indicates a Video error code. Does this mean the system board (motherboard) needs replacing ?

Try reseating (remove and reinstall) both memory modules. If that does nothing, then you very likely do have a faulty mainboard.
