Inspiron 17R 5737 Hibernation problem - keeps getting stuck

Hello,

I have had Inspiron 17R for 6 months now and I have had Windows 8.1 on it.

For the first 5 months it was okay but afterwards something quite weird started happening. Almost every time I try to turn the laptop off, it starts powering up, the white light at the bottom right corner blinks but the screen remains dead. If I press the off button long enough the laptop switches off and then if I repeat the same process it will eventually resume and work fine, but it takes sometimes 4 or 5 times to get it to do that and it is really starting to worry me.

Any idea why it is becoming so difficult to wake up the laptop from hibernation and has anyone seen this bizarre behaviour before?

The only thing I have done that could affect it is about 2 months ago I changes the BIOS settings so I could boot up using Linux live USB but then I put the BIOS settings back to the original state and everything worked fine for a while before this weird problem started happening.

Thank you

That's a driver problem, I had it too and I solved it with Leshcat UnifL driver.

I followed these instructions and the problem still persists.

Maybe mine is not related to the graphics card?
