Inspiron 5721 laptop 8GB running extremely slow

I have had this laptop for a few years and discovered recently that it is running extremely slow. I installed Windows 10 from Windows 7 about 6 months ago.

Best example is during reboot. Each time I reboot the system after performing a system upgrade it will not complete the reboot. I tell the system to "RESTART" , it begins to shut down and then completely stops the restart process. The screen turns black, the restart stops, and my laptop begins to make this "bleep" "bleep" "bleep" sound, about every 2-3 seconds a continuous bleep sound. I'm now forced to power down the system and start over again.

If anyone recognizes this sound and you have any idea what it could be your feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Greg,

What is the exact # of beeps in a cycle? This will help isolate the source of the issue.

If the system boots into Windows, then update the BIOS and check - http://dell.to/2mwP50i 

Restart the system and press f12 key on startup - choose diagnostics. Let it run the diags and if you encounter any errors - make a note of the complete error and report the same to us. These are onboard diagnostics and they might possible pick some error if the hardware is not functional. Also, run an extended / thorough tests on the HDD and memory to check for any possible errors.

If the motherboard needs to be replaced, I would personally suggest you to invest your money on a new machine than to repair this system, as the motherboard replacement is not an inexpensive procedure. However, that is your discretion.
