I had to reformat my hard drive, and when I reinstalled windows I "think" I installed all of the drivers properly, but when I plug my webcam in it says I should use a 2.0 port. When I used it before I formatted the hard drive it didn't say that, so I know the port used to be 2.0. Of the four USB ports, only one seems to be operating at 2.0. Try and try as I might I just can't seem to get the right drivers or the right installation sequence to get these 2.0 ports working. Any advice? Thanks for the help.
You need the Dell notebook system software, the Intel chipset driver and Service Pack 3 (assuming this is XP).
Media Direct should've been installed first - even before the OS, then the drivers in the following order: Drivers installation order emoticon.Idea.title
Do you have the 'Drivers & Utilities' disc you got with the system?
Those will at least get you up and running, but you should then visit the 'Drivers & Downloads' page (link at the bottom of this page - under 'Support'), and download/install the latest drivers - especially chipset, network, video, and audio.
