I am new to laptops and to Vista (the laptop in question uses Vista Home Premium (no SP)) Until yesterday I was using my microphone with a program called Teamspeak. Every time I plug the mic into the jack a dialog would come up asking what the device is, it was something like: (Options) Mic, Line in, etc... I selected microphone then clicked 'ok'. but yesterday I also checked the 'do not show this again opton after selecting microphone. It worked then, but the dialog no longer comes up and the mic is not detected, I have tried: Start>Control Panel> Hardware & Sound>Sound>Manage audio devices. It seems the mic does not get detected during the speech test.
Is there any way I can get this dialog box back? (The automatic dialog when the mic is inserted)
