I can't believe it! My 3 ( and one day) year old Inspiron E1705 ( the warranty expired yesterday 01/30/2009) The LCD screen went blank for the second time? It was replaced by DELL last Janurary and now it has failed again.. Do they have a failure clock in these things? I tried the diognostic on the DELL web site, but it doesn't do anything, Beep or flash errors... Any ideas?
My E1705 also has similar LCD Monitor issue. I could verify my system is in good health by connecting it to an external Monitor and it works fine. Also, if I run the laptop on battery (DISCONNECT power supply), LCD lights up (NOT bright enough) showing the screen and it works fine. Problem is only when the laptop is connected to power supply, LCD screen is black (NO light/display).
What could be the problem?...bad wires or lamp or LCD panel?
