Inspiron Mini 9 - Install Bluetooth?
Hi...
I recently bought a used Inspiron 910 (Inspiron Mini 9) that was pretty loaded, but didn't come with the Bluetooth option from the factory. While I recognize that I could add any number of USB Bluetooth adapters, what would be the best option?
- USB Bluetooth adapter
- Dell OEM Bluetooth adapter J613H (~$20)
- There's a bit of prying & wiring with this option
- Replace the existing Dell wireless mPCI-e adapter with a new combo one, likely from Intel (802.11n+Bluetooth - ~$20 / 802.11ac+Bluetooth - ~$35), connecting to the Mini's existing built-in antenna
The last option should work, unless the Mini 9's WiFi or WWAN ports aren't mPCI-e... (I took out the Dell 5530 3g WWAN card, which gave a nice speed improvement). And I'm running Win8.1 Pro 32-bit.
I'd be looking to be able to stream from the Dell to another device (e.g. headset, speakers, etc.), so option 1 may not work for that purpose (e.g. an adapter that comes with a Bluetooth mouse).
Thoughts?
