Inspiron N4010 ram memory specs

I need to upgrade the RAM of my N4010,now I have only one slot working (the other is not working) with 2gb samsung memory.

My questions are?

Does N4010 support any 8gb module? If it does, which type of DDR3 module? (I have tried Kingston kvr16ls11/8 but did not work)

If it supports up to 4gb which type of memory does it need? (I have tried Kingston Kvr13s9s8/4 but it did not work either)

Thanks in advance for your help

Kunam,

Below is the memory information and specs for the Inspiron N4010.

Memory

The Inspiron™ N4010 system supports dual-channel DDR3 SDRAM with memory speeds of 1333 MHz. At 1333 MHz, this memory offers a significant increase of memory performance over previous platforms.

  • The memory solution is implemented in a dual-channel configuration, allowing the system to have twice the memory bandwidth while using the same memory technology.
  • Memory modules must be installed as a perfectly matched pair to take advantage of the dual-channel memory bus. If not a matched pair, the system's memory bus operates in a single-channel configuration.

Memory Configuration

Inspiron™ N4010 has two user-accessible SODIMM sockets, both slots can be accessed after removing the base cover. Basically, when both DIMM connectors are populated, the system has optimum dual-channel performance unless channels A and B have different amounts of memory.

Inspiron™ N4010 DIMM Configuration
Slot A Slot B Total Memory
2048 MB None 2048 MB
1024 MB 2048 MB 3072 MB
2048 MB 2048 MB 4096 MB

4096 MB 1024 MB 5120 MB
4096 MB 2048 MB 6144 MB
4096 MB 4096 MB 8192 MB

Memory

Memory module connectors two user-accessible SODIMM connectors
Memory module capacities 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB
Possible Memory Configurations 2 GB, 3 GB, 4 GB, 5GB, 6 GB and 8 GB
Memory type DDR3 1333 MHz SODIMM
Minimum memory 2 GB
Maximum memory 8 GB

Thanks Jesse!

Now it is clear that 8gb modules are not supported and that the frequency must be 1333Mhz. But I have  tried 4gb modules with the same frequency (1333mhz) with no success, the specific model was this one (http://goo.gl/pLLzm3). Any idea? Are there any other specifications? Number of pins? Buffer? Cicle time?

KUNAM,

There are no other specs for the systems memory. Take a look on the site below. This is where i personally get my memory.

I think even 1133mhz also supports. Please check it once. I am using n4010 which had come with 4gb ram ( 2*2 10600S with 1133Mhz)
